Calla Lilies

It makes sense that painters pronounced their art form dead when cameras arrived in the late 1800s. The two white lilies illustrate the point. It’s a painterly still life, made without filters or interventions, created with nothing other than nature and a person looking through a lens. Of course, painting never died. With the arrival of the new, and the disruption that comes with expanding technologies, there’s always a certain level of fear, resistance, mourning, and hyperbole.
