Holiday Blues

The wreath set off sweet Christmas vibes in a quiet way I admired, coexisting within the elegantly baroque gate and garden. Everything feels a little less jolly, though - spoiler alert - when describing the location, namely a former plantation located along a row of them that dot the roads running through swamp country east of New Orleans. It’s a beautiful and haunting landscape in a place that is, no joke, nicknamed Cancer Alley because of the Industrial plants along the Mississippi River. It’s known for its cancer clusters. Sometimes travelling brings you to places and knowledge you never knew before. And it’s not all Disneyland, is it?
