My Origins, D.I.Y. 

A ma and pa portrait from possibly the highest-flying era in my parents’ life and a homemade nod to 1960s pop art too. So much color and memory. My mother’s collage and my father’s abstract painting made before the term-DIY existed. Look at her purple paisley pants and the torn ad for V-8 juice blending together like a puzzle. The masks spoke volumes of the twinkled eyed Ad Man/Mad Man in Manhattan and his wife, a stylish lover of Westchester County’s weekend party life, a cigarette and cocktail in hand.
