New Americans 2

Every July Fourth, hundreds of people from across the globe gather to become United States citizens in a ceremony held in Old Salem, North Carolina, a small town with Moravian roots tracing back to the 1600s. Fortunately, there were plenty of seats under shade trees on that scorching hot morning as many friends, family, and random visitors came to witness the traditional ceremony. I’d never been before and the ritual moved me far more than I’d expected. Just look at this couple from Nigeria. Beaming.
