Newcomers 

It’s not the matching fedoras but the look in their eyes that drew me to meet these brothers from Rwanda. They were seated at a school cafeteria during a student art opening. It was on a Saturday morning that began with big fluffy snowflakes falling. They’d never seen snow before. Still, their family drove to the Newcomer’s School in Greensboro, N.C to celebrate the creations made by their children, who were, like them, braving this new world.
