Selling It in Peru
An American I know lives in Peru and when I arrived in Cusco, she suggested I do a documentary on the city’s weird mannequins. I went strolling and discovered what she meant. Take, for example, these saleswomen flanking each side of the open storefront. Footless legs suspended in the air, hairless heads, shirt sleeves dangling from the armless, levitating figures, who looked like they’d had a tough night. Still, the skirts were pretty.
